Region

Deprecated. Use "layer".

Elonn has exactly two layers — Carry and Field — a closed set (see
[layout.md](../canonical/layout.md)). "Region" was an earlier name for the same division.

Do not use "region" as an architectural noun and do not introduce a third region. Where
older text says "carry region" / "field region", read "the Carry layer" / "the Field
layer".

Forbidden:
- region as a current architectural noun
- any region name other than carry or field
