Placement

Purpose

A Placement describes the position or arrangement of another structure.

Placements may be used to define available placement types or to describe a specific placement.

The Canonical Data Model defines the structure of a Placement but does not define the available Placement types.

Structure

A Placement consists of:

• id - Identifies the Placement.
• type - Classifies the Placement.
• content - Contains the data associated with the Placement.

The interpretation of content is determined by type.

Characteristics

• Placements are independent.
• Placements may contain any valid data.
• Placements are immutable.
